It gives you a good exposure and there are thousands of references to these articles. Other than this, you can also submit guest write-ups on different websites.
No matter how good your content is, it is of no value until it is connected with other websites through links. A website without traffic is like a body without life. They need to be linked to other authoritative and reputed sources in order to get noticed and win the reader’s trust.
